The best there is in everything that really matters.

Best Review on Optimum Nutrition Standard Strawberry Banana

Optimum Nutrition Standard Strawberry Banana

I've used Optimum Nutrition's Whey Protein for many years and always loved it. Occasionally I have tried other brands and always come back. The price is right and the flavors are usually great. Double Rich Chocolate tastes alright. I'm not going to lie, it doesn't have the best taste. It used to taste quite a bit better but over the years the flavor has changed. Not as good as it used to be but the ingredient list has been improved. With 24 grams of protein and 5 BCAA's, yet only 3 carbs, you can't go wrong!

The powder mixes easily in any shaker bottle. I usually mix it with water, but it tastes better if you mix it with milk and/or some fruit. Goes down easy with a few ice cubes.

Again! This is the best protein on the market for the price! Sure Optimum Nutrition Hydrowhey is a more refined product that can be digested a little better, but for the price you can't beat this Gold Standard.

I have also tried a couple other flavors. Double Rich Chocolate was what I used all the time. But the flavor isn't as good as it used to be so I've experimented with some others lately. I still drink it but I like to mix it up and swap flavors now. If you don't like Double Rich Chocolate, try another flavor. You'll eventually find one you will like.

Here is a list of the flavors I have tried and how I rank them (strictly on flavor alone --- 10 = Perfect .... 1 = Bad)

Banana Cream - 9
Strawberry Banana - 5
Delicious Strawberry - 6
Double Rich Chocolate - 7
Extreme Milk Chocolate - 5
Tropical Punch - 6

Protein is not meant to taste perfect. It's meant to be a workout supplement and the taste is just a bonus. Take them for the nutritional benefits and the ability to use them as a meal replacement. ON Gold Standard is simply the best. You can't go wrong!

Best Review on Almased Synergy Multi Protein Powder

Almased Synergy Multi Protein Powder

Four weeks into my "lose the weight I gained during my medical residency project" I have lost 10 lbs...only 15 to go! I mix the powder with SilK Soy Milk...and love it. The choices are vanilla, chocolate and almond, a nice variety. The first few days was the biggest adjustment to make, but I drank low sodium V8 juice and veggie broth to satisfy hunger moments. Actually, I did the Almased drink soley for a week before substituting one low cal meal a day and felt satisfied. I am in a very busy medical practice and have had plenty of energy to last all day. Unfortunately, that does not leave me a lot of time to exercise. The cost at Amazon.com was about $25 per can, but being a short person and only needing 6 TBSP per drink, a can gives me about 12 servings. A bargain investment in my health and well-being...not to mention my self-esteem. Skinny jeans....here I come!Almased Synergy Diet Multi-Protein Powder 17.60 Ounces

Best Review on Muscle Milk Oats Vanilla 2 7 Ounce

Muscle Milk Oats Vanilla 2 7 Ounce

I have low blood sugar, so I am always excited about trying a new product that is high in protein to keep my blood sugar levels stable. I have been using Muscle Milk shakes for several years and have enjoyed good results, so I was very excited about trying Muscle Milk oatmeal. I was soooooo disappointed by the awful taste. Didn't want to waste the 6-pack, so I gave some to my Mother. She said she loved the taste, but she used hot milk instead of hot water to mix. Then I tried heating milk for 60 seconds in the microwave and then pouring it into the cup. Wow! What a difference. The taste is so much better that I plan to add this product to my list of food staples. Before I purchased, I read a few reviews that gave poor ratings due to the taste. Try it with hot milk, and you might like it. Since I have low blood sugar, I need to eat a lot of protein which can increase cholesterol; this product only has 5mg of cholesterol per serving, so it is a great way to increase protein. Also, I found the one cup serving to be a little too much. So, I just eat 1/2 at breakfast and put the container in a gladware container and reheat the next day.

Cuisinart CSB 75 2 Speed Immersion Blender

This blender, the Cuisnart CSB-75BC, really does 'meet or beat' what I thought a blender should be capable of doing, especially considering the cost. I've only had it a few weeks but I like experimenting with my new stuff so I've tried it out on some soup and veggies, and fruits too; didn't do well with cube ice but then I didn't expect it to. But, it did nicely with heavy cream.

I ordered the chrome version and that's what I got. I didn't find it especially heavy but I only intend holding it for brief periods of time, anyway. Nor did I have any difficulty with the different speeds or being able to control them. Oh, and I didn't cut my fingers 'cause I had the common sense not to forget shutting it off before I stuck my fingers where they shouldn't have been.

This Cuisnart blender looks and feels good and the two halves separate and reattach without difficulty. However, I cannot attest to it's longevity, yet. But if I become dissatisfied, for any reason, I'll update this review.

I've given some thought to what other reviewers have said and, truthfully, I don't understand much of it. This is a blender and, frankly, I think I got just about what I paid for, and what I expected.

What's in the Box...

Best Review on Ninja Kitchen System Pulse Blender

Ninja Kitchen System Pulse Blender

This is a very powerful machine, and I'm happy to get rid of my Cuisinart blender in exchange.

It is a fantastic design. I agree that 40oz might be small if you're making several servings, however, I didn't want to spend the additional on the next size up until I knew something about this product. For us, 1-2 servings is suitable. The pitcher is light and the components are secure, there is no dripping out the bottom (where the blade components attach) which has been a problem in the past with other blenders. Hopefully this stands up over time. Also, the individual cups are portable and smart and fit my use (daily juice/smoothies, particularly on the go). They are easy to clean, and the smartest thing yet - they thread from the inside! And the gasket which secures is (so far) water-tight, so if you have to add more water or juice to thin out the consistency, you're not left with a drippy mess just because you removed the lid for a minute. Brilliant, Thank You Ninja.

I was initially sold on this by the words "juicing", but I haven't figured out how to pull that off just yet (thinking carrots, beets, etc), however being able to finely chop spinach and kale in exchange is worth it. Overall very pleased with the consistency of the drinks, whether I use frozen pineapple or fresh spinach, I'm ending up with a thick smoothie / thick juice, which works for me.

Much Better than Magic Bullet! (Updated)

Read First Before Buy Back Basics SE3000 Smoothie Lifestyle

Back Basics SE3000 Smoothie Lifestyle

No this isn't the most perfect personal blender ever, but it close. I have had this for a couple months and use it almost every day. I got it because of reviews and most were spot on.
Pro's
- Ice or frozen... no problem
- size, perfect for one or two servings
- easy clean up of all parts
- small and stylish, not another monstrosity to find counter space for
- cup has oz, ml, and cup measurements on side

Con's
- the drink lid is laughable. The hole is to small unless your drinking straight liquid, which seem counter intuitive in a blender. I just use a straw or drink over the threads with out a lid
- This is not a quite model and it gets going. I have never needed to go above 2 (because it handles everything I throw at it), but also I am a little afraid to... I think it might rattle off my counter ;-)

All in all this isn't going to compete with a glass top of the line blender. But at the price and size you shouldn't be expecting it to. For what it was designed to do, it is brilliant. I love it.

Best Review on NUTRITION LEAN1 CHOCOLATE Perfomance Shake

NUTRITION LEAN1 CHOCOLATE Perfomance Shake

I have been doing just 1 to 2 shakes per day...usually just replacing my lunch with it....I do add in a banana most of the time. BUT even alone just mixed in water it tastes GREAT! If you do 3 scoops it is creamier but 2 scoops and at least 1/2 a banana and it is super yummy! It DOES keep me from feeling hungry too!

I've lost 11 pounds so far and the only thing I truly did differently was this drink in the past 2 months. I was already going to the gym a few times a week before. So, I think this shake is helping to kickstart my metabolism maybe.

It is NOT chalky in the least.

IF you wanna try it just go to Smoothie King since they make shakes with it....that's where I discovered it. However, they sell the 1.7lb tub for $40.99......vs the 2 lb tub on Amazon for the low $30's...and FREE shipping on PRIME...plus no tax!! DEAL!!
