Best Review on Oster Ironman 250 Watt Fitness Blender

Oster Ironman 250 Watt Fitness Blender

This is a pretty niche product, but it does what it is designed for quite well. It's a personal blender designed for single-use blended drinks like protein shakes. I use mine to make a breakfast shake or coffee every morning. It crushes up ice quite well, and has blended just about everything I've thrown into it. It's powerful enough for the task at hand; don't expect it to "blend" an iPhone or anything.

Cleanup is pretty easy: I just blend soap and water. Plus, the bottles are dishwasher safe. I never wanted to use my big blender for this kind of thing because taking apart and cleaning the whole thing was just way more than I was willing to invest in a beverage.

For convenience, I also picked up a couple Oster Ironman 250-Watt Fitness Blender, Accessory Bottle. I'm not terribly responsible when it comes to personal containers, so it's nice to have a back up if I forget a bottle at work.

Others have commented about the lack of a tight seal with the drink tops on the bottles. I've found them to be adequate. I wouldn't toss this into a gym bag or anything. It's more like a lid than an impenetrable seal. Keep the bottles upright, drink normally, and all is well. I mean, you can close the top and shake it up and it will be fine.

  1. And frappes. And smoothies, especially in mid-New England summer when there's a week-long heatwave with no rain on the horizon. But they're tasty any time of the year, even after a hike in the snow, which is why I purchased the Oster Ironman Sports Fitness Blender.

The package contains the sport bottle, blade assembly part and a base with a cord attached, plus a rubber, "spill-proof" lid so you can take the drink with you if you're going out. It's a breeze to assemble, just a case of screwing the right parts into the other right parts and plugging it in. Just make sure the little white arrows are lined up on the base and the blender, and you're good to start mixing. As long as the pre-designated amount of ice or frozen fruit is added, I had no problem blending everything together. (Note: I haven't tried to mix protein or powders with the drink as one Amazon reviewer did.)

Overall, I found the blender to do what the package promised, plus it's handy and doesn't take up a lot of kitchen space the way a larger blender would. It's also dishwasher safe, so if you put off cleaning it right away, you don't have to worry about scrubbing off the inside buildup.

  2. Works smoothly. You get what you pay for it. The gasket broke on a similar blender I purchased for $20 from GNC. I doubt I'll have the same issues with this unit. I'm deployed to Afghanistan and always on the go, so I needed something compact and easily packed away.

  4. This is a surprisingly powerful blender for its size. I put in frozen fruit and it blends it completely and quickly! I would highly recommend this brand and model to anyone looking for a personal blender.

  5. With its small footprint on my counter, heavy duty blending capabilities, and the mix and go mug I couldn't be happier with this item. I am in smoothie heaven. Make my smoothie change out the mixing lid for the travel lid and I have breakfast to go. Awesome machine

  6. I bought this because it just looked like a really sexy blender. There weren't many reviews so I took a chance. It is very quiet, washes up easily but beyond everything else, it is just the best looking personal blender out there. It doesn't leak and the I really like the rubber outside designs because it also prevents the cup from slipping. I like the sleek design and for my small hands, it's perfect. I'm tempted to buy another one for the home as well. I mainly bought this for the office since I hated lumps in my protein shakes. Those shakers just don't work as well. Overall, I endorse this product. You don't need an extra cup either since you will only drink one shake at a time. Make sure you wash the bottle right after though because it's so deep that a man's hand won't be able to reach in there.

  7. I received The Oster Ironman via Amazon Vine, and probably would not have purchased one otherwise. I was skeptical that this was simply just another gadget disguised as "sports equipment" that would soon find its way pushed to the back of the bottom shelf. Well, I was half right (in a positive way). Turns out that the Ironman is indeed a gadget marketed with a sports/fitness orientation, BUT, it works! . . . and not only for fitness smoothies . . . and with several advantages over a conventional blender:

Gives one the option of mixing up a single serving size drink (fruit smoothie, frozen punch, daquari, or what have you) without dragging out and messing up a full size blender for a one person refreshment. Put in your ingredients, blend (and we all know that 20 speed selections are unecessary), remove the container, flip it over, switch the blending head (with the blades) to the cap and you are ready to take it with you. As you wish, you may transfer your drink to another glass/mug/cup, or as intended, drink right from the Ironman container with its rubberized protective exterior and handy handle.

The Ironman requires a smaller footprint on your countertop or storage shelf. I've found that with the increased usage and smaller space requirements, it's earned a place being on the countertop rather than under it. And it's cool-looking, in a no-nonsense sort of way.

At cleanup time, the smaller Ironman container is much easier to wield than a conventional full size blender container. It will take up less space in your dishwasher. If you are hand washing, it's easier to handle and with much less chance of breaking. One negative is that large hands cannot access the far reaches inside the Ironman container . . . would be a problem trying to manually remove dried on smoothie remnants.

I was skeptical, but it turns out that this product was a pretty good idea, and nicely executed by Oster.

  8. I tried three other blenders, to use with my smoothly diet plan, they were either not strong enough, or the clean-up
took way to much time. This blender is strong, fast, and the clean up takes about three seconds, I love it and highly recommend it.

  9. When I bought this blender, I took a chance since there was only one review, and I'm glad I did. It's sleek, sexy and a powerful personal blender. I didn't need the multiple cups that comes with the bullet and ninja. If you are looking for a great personal blender that saves you time and space, this is it. Having to leave home at 5:30 a.m for work, I can have my breakfast smoothie ready in no time, and best of all, no transferring into another cup. I just take off the blade and put on the lid. Clean up is 5 seconds- rinse the blade and that's it. After finishing my shake, I rinse and use it for water throughout the day so I can stay hydrated and this way, the shake doesn't 'cake up' the container since it is deep. As for the blade power, I put a lot of things in my shake...milk, Greek yogurt, frozen berries and fruits and greens. If I put in enough milk, no shaking is necessary, if I want a very thick shake, then I shake it once or twice between blends to get all the frozen pieces blended. It's very efficient and not loud. I have roomies and have have had no complaints from making shakes early in the mornings.
