Waring WPB80 Professional Blender 48 Ounce

I had a different Waring blender for more years than I can remember. It had a plastic body and membrane buttons with an ice crushing mode. That blender made me believe that I would prefer Waring for a very long time. It died only because the plastic body eventually gave up the ghost (we're talking >10 years) and the motor mounts broke. That ended up messing with the bearings and stuff. With no hesitation I went to get another one. I like the metal body. I was a bit skeptical about the two mode switch, but then on the other model we mostly used the pulse and didn't really care that much about having a lot of speed choices. I'm glad I got it. I see others do not care for the plastic container, but I have no issues with it, and the shape is a key part of why it works so well. It's a tried and true design that was present on the other one I had.

The only think I do not care for is the screw on base. The soft plastic is not an improvement in my mind. It makes it hard to get the blade on and off. This is not enough, however, for me to downgrade my rating. I'd buy another in an instant and recommend it to people I like.

  1. This blender is mostly used for smoothies and it has no trouble powering through ice, carrots, frozen fruit, fresh apples, etc. I love the Warring Pro. Brand (we also have their professional waffle maker) because their products are simple and easy to use (no frills) and they work well. For instance, most blenders would have a billion settings like "puree", "crush", etc. and have 5 different speeds. This blender has three settings: "hi", "lo", and "off" and that's enough to do the job wonderfully. The only thing I would change about this blender is to make the pitcher glass vs. plastic, but really, it's not a big deal in the larger scheme of things.

  2. I have this Waring blender on the counter at my apartment and it matches my stainless appliances and looks great!
Most important the Waring really works well. I like mixed drinks like margaritas and I was looking for a smooth texture when mixing in ice cubes. The Waring delivers!
I also like the fact it is made in the USA although the great way it works is the most important to me.

  3. This blender is really amazing. I had to get a new blender recently since my other blender wasn't quite keeping up with the things I needed to blend. Thankfully I got this sweet piece of assembled machinery. This thing can definitely handle heavy-duty blending needs while never jamming or over-heating. Trust me, I've already blended at least 50 different concoctions in this bad boy and it has yet to pause for a breather. I recommend this blender with it's 10 out of 10 quality and it's always there for you reliability.

  4. This blender proves there is no need to have 14 different speeds to achieve great results. The simple switch operates the blender at one of two speeds. Primary use at this time is to create smoothies, but I am confident it would perform equally well for other purposes. I purchased this blender because it is made in the USA and also because it had good reviews. Consider this another two thumbs up!

  5. This is my 5th blender in 10 years. I had actually given up on blenders since they always burned up after a few frozen drinks. A friend suggested a waring I am impressed. I have made frozen drinks several times and it works great. Only 1 complaint, it works a little too good, if you use level 2 for more than a few seconds your ice will be gone.

  6. Excellent Blender, well made - if I had one negative it's that I'd like a glass jar because of all the plastic issues nowadays. The container fits nice and it's big. Worth the couple extra dollars also to get an American Product.

  7. This is my second Waring blender. The first one had a motor burnout after about 3 years and daily use. So far, I'm happy. This one has more power and the plastic jar has better sloped sides to feed things toward the blades. I also have the glass jar from the last blender - which looks better. So far, so good.
