Best Review on Vitamix 5200s Black Featuring Instructional
Whenever I saw these blenders being demonstrated in the stores I would stop and listen to the pitch. For over ten years I'd walk away thinking, "Great product, but there's no way I'm spending $400 to $500 on a darn blender."
I make 'everything-but-the-kitchen-sink veggie/fruit smoothies' every morning. After going through about three $50 blenders, each lasting less than a year, I decided to take the plunge. I saw this blender at Costco for around $370, so I did the math. 7 year warranty, 7 cheap blenders at $50 each=$350. O.K., what the heck. What a great decision. I've own it for a year now, and still runs great. Easy to clean. And believe me, there is a significant difference in a smoothie made with one of these and one made with a $50 blender. I never realized how grainy my smoothies were before. Plus, the Vitamix is much faster. I just throw everything in, start on low work it up to high...a minute later a great smoothie.
Now, I know it does much more than make smoothies. I've made Pesto, Coleslaw, and even soup once. Honestly, I still prefer to make soup the old-fashion way, with a good knife and hot pot. With that said, if you buy this just to make smoothies every day, it's worth it. That's primarily what I use it for. Now if you make smoothies once a week, maybe the $50 blender is a better deal for you.
I'll just finish with one of my favorite tool buying sayings, "Buy quality and only cry once, buy cheap and cry everytime you use it." Honestly, I don't miss the $400 I spent last year, but I smile every morning when I have my smoothie. If your on the fence, and think you'd use this product frequently, take the plunge...you'll be glad you did.
This blender has changed my lifestyle. You can literally throw every vegetable or fruit and blend it into a smooth delicious refreshment. In addition, the blender leaves no chunks. Win! Not only does it blend ingredients well, this machine is easy to clean! You just add water and soap then blend!
BalasHapusThe Vitamix literally changed my life. As a busy medical student the Vitamix allows me to make nutritious smoothies in minutes and maintain a healthy lifestyle amid a stressful life.
BalasHapusI purchased the new Vitamix Pro 300 and also the older 5200. I decided to keep the 5200.
If you are just making smoothies and liquidy sauces, then the 1829 Pro 300 will make a smoother sauce and smoothie.
However, if you are making thicker nut pastes and nut creams (for gourmet raw foods preparation), the 5200 does a better job.
One reason is that the plunger of the 5200 is longer than the plunger of the 1829 Pro 300. The 300 also has a larger base, so more nuts can escape blending, compared to the 5200.
So if you are going to be doing gourmet raw foods preparation with thick nut pastes, then purchase the 5200. If you are just sticking with liquidy sauces and smoothies, the Pro 300 is better.

I never thought I'd be one of those people that said they loved an appliance...but OMG!! (Yeah, that's from a 50+ year old.) This thing is great. From day one, not only am I having at least 1 green smoothie a day, but so is my husband. And I think the only reason he's enjoying them is because this blender does such a perfect job with ANY ingredients I throw into it. Yep, I love...love...love this appliance. And the 3 pounds I've already lost in the first week of my new, raw, green diet!
BalasHapusThis is the blender that tool time would have invented, it has some serious power. So far it has proved to be capable of doing everything that they advertise. We have made soup and smoothies and margaritas, and have so far been delighted. The price was better that the local club price even including shipping. It arrived quickly and and in perfect condition.
BalasHapusThis ingenious piece of equipment has changed the way we've prepared our food since we got it. We use it everyday, preparing practically everything!
BalasHapusWorkmanship and build is of the highest quality, but at the same time extremely easy to use. Cleaning, which normally would be a hassle, is also surprisingly very easy.
We recommend this to everyone, especially those who make their own food from scratch (all-natural), you definitely won't be disappointed and is worth every penny.
I have bought 3of these for me and my daughter in law and daughter. It's fabulous! The most powerful I have ever had.
BalasHapusFor wedding gifts in the early 1980s, I asked for and received a Cuisinart Food Processor and a KitchenAid Stand mixer and used them for many things. Both of those I still have and use. Since then, I've bought myself 3 blenders (still have 2), a hand mixer, an electric juicer, and a small electric chopper. However, neither blender makes good smoothies or sorbet, nor can they handle hot liquids. When I use the food processor to puree things that are somewhat liquid, it can't handle very large quantities and seems to make quite a mess. It also bogs down when making nut betters.
BalasHapusMy bother bought a Breville juicer last year and according to him it wastes a lot of the pulp and is a pain in the neck to take apart and clean. He said he bought it for making healthier foods and weightloss for both him and his wife. But, it's been 8 months since they used it last because of the hassle in food prep and clean up. So, after watching a few demos for Vitamix mixers over the years, I finally decided to buy one when I saw it at Costco for over $100 less than the price here.
I love it!. It's so easy to prepare a variety of foods - guacamole, salsa, pesto, soups, and smoothies. I haven't tried sorbet yet, but it's my list for this weekend. So easy to clean too!
