Best Review on Progressive International Blender Integrated Cleaning
I already have a high-end blender but I wanted one specifically for smoothies (and maybe bar drinks) so I did my research and purchased the Waring MBB520 - Copper. I have a GE Monogram kitchen (stainless) and when I first put this blender on the counter to make my first smoothie, the first two comments from my friends were along the lines of, "Wow, it looks nice!" ... and I concurred.
Right out of the box all you have to do is quickly wash the glass container and you're good to go. A recipe book was included so I used the strawberry/banana recipe to make my first smoothie. The blender has 3 options: off, low, and high. The glass container fits on the base but not the tight locking fit of some blenders. Actually, I like this better because it allows me to shake things around when I'm making my smoothie (kinda like the way they do it at Jamba Juice). After about 1 min, it was done. The ice and frozen strawberries were blended in with the banana, milk and yogurt. It was smmmmooth and tasted grrrrrreat!
Now comes the part that I hate: cleaning. But cleaning this blender was a breeze because you don't have to take it apart; it is one unit. You just pop the lid off, take it off the base, and rinse it (with light soap if you like). It was pain-free ...
It was so easy and good that I made a second one right away - this time with frozen mangoes and some nutrition powder. I highly recommend this blender. You'll be happy with it!

BalasHapusThis pastry blender is awesome, much sturdier and more comfortable to use than others I have had, the cleaning tab is awesome, this is really the reason I ordered this as I was always trying to use my fingers or a knife to clean out the blades as I was cutting shortening or butter into dry ingredients. One slide of the tab and you have clean blades to keep working with. Have only used it once but by the feel and looks of it I expect it to last a long time.
BalasHapusEasy to handle and easy to clean. It's sturdy and I haven't had any problems with the blades bending like I have had on other pastry cutters. Sometimes in small bowls it isn't easy to maneuver, but I like it.

BalasHapusWhen my old wire pastry blender finally came apart, I was sort of glad. It did a pretty sorry job. It was better than a fork, but the tines would bend, and I was constantly removing stuck crust from between them. This thing is sooooo much better! The blades cut through cold butter without bending. The cleaning tab was helpful. It has a large cutting area. It is also taller than my old one. It arrived today, and I just made the pie crust, so I haven't washed it yet, but I am looking forward to putting it in the dishwasher. My old one had a wooden handle, so I had to hand wash it. I wish I had purchased one of these years ago.
BalasHapusI purchased the Progressive International Pastry Blender because of the positive Amazon reviews, but when I received it, I was shocked by how flexible the blades were--I was sure they would bend out of place after the first use. Happily, the reviewers on Amazon did not let me down; this is a fantastic pastry blender! It cuts the butter into the flour quickly and easily, and it has not lost its shape after many uses with nearly frozen butter.
BalasHapusThe cleaning tab is rather annoying as it blocks part of the blades (not enough to have any impact, but still annoying), is completely unnecessary, and, worst, does not clean the blades.
Everything that I expected it to be. Good quality. Heavy feel. Worked well. Easy cleaning. Right size. I would recommend this to everyone.
