Yes, it does the job.

Breville BBL605XL Hemisphere Control Blender

I have considered several blenders that could make green smoothies. The Ninja is a good price ~$120.00 but has a terrible design with lots of plastic to break, a lid that's difficult to remove and interior corners for food to stick. The VitaMix sounds great and it should for ~$500.00!

The Breville has a cost of ~$200.00 but is designed very well with ring holds to remove the top and the plug from the wall, a cylindrical, one piece, lightweight, crystal clear, scratch resistant (so far no scratches), pitcher that doesn't trap food and is easy to clean and many choices of speeds. The size is also great: compact, streamlined and fits easily underneath kitchen cabinets.

It has done an excellent job on green smoothies and can chew up an apple, a pear, a hunk of fresh ginger, ice cubes (with a little water) and several handfuls of greens without any hesitation.

KitchenAid KSB560MC 5 Speed Polycarbonate Metallic

I was one of those people wondering what's the big difference between those cheap 30 dollar blender vs. the ones that are over a hundred bucks... I found that the following things made this particular blender very useful and worth every dollar that I paid for...

1) SOOOOO easy to clean... you literally just take out the jar and just hand wash it... Other cheap machines will make you have to take it apart and clean every little parts...

2) chops ice very well... One time, my ice cubes all CLUMPED together into ONE HUGE ice chunk (i kept it in a plastic bag), and I wondered if my blender would be able to crush this... to my surprise, the blender was able to crush into a smooth texture with the "crush ice" button.... A cheap machine would make you use a spoon or something to move the ice around or maybe just crush it into little pieces before-hand...

3) the 5 different buttons are nice to have... Literally, each button on the blender acts differently... the Ice Crush button is very nice because it pushes the ice cubes around to get to every single ice cube in the jar... I found this function very useful... Also, the "liquefy" and "puree" buttons are very useful when making smoothies or shakes...

In my experience, I used a 1500 dollar blender before (was a commercial purpose one), and that thing worked flawlessly.... for something that you want for homeuse, this is a pretty good blender and for it's price, i think it will satisfy what you're looking for.....

It's not too cheap, not to expensive, but just right~

Best Review on 13 Piece Professional Bar Set

13 Piece Professional Bar Set

I read every word of every review before I bought the Cuisinart CPB-300 SmartPower 15-Piece Compact Portable Blending/Chopping System,White. As soon as it came, I read the instruction booklet (not the 4 page leaflet) then immediately tested it by trying the things that the negative reviews downgraded it on.
I referred to the instruction booklet to crush ice, chop nuts, puree and make smoothies. By following directions, it worked flawlessly. It was easy to clean--even the gasket. The instructions were clear on gasket removal. I did have to do it step by step, but that way was very easy.
The only two negatives for me were the size of the large cup (it could be a few ounces larger to alleviate the necessity of using the 32 ounce container), and the travel lids. The no-close opening and the general design of the lid could be better. Even with the negatives, it's a keeper!
If you take the time to learn how to use it, I think you'll love it too!
Update: Many weeks later and I still love my purchase! I have been able to use 8 ice cubes in my protein shakes, and the poweful motor makes it ice cream thick. It's running as smoothly as the day I took it out of the box. I have put the cups and lids in the dishwasher, and have not seen any clouding in the cup at all. I'm guessing that clouding might come frome certain dishwasher soaps. I can still say that I am still thrilled with my choice. You should give it a try!

Freshfoods 78963 Mash Serve Bowl

I have tried almost everything to make baby food:

- baby food mills
- baby food makers (that steam, blend, all in one)
- food blenders
- food processors

i still come crawling back to my freshfoods mash and serve bowl.

here's why:
- easy to clean. all the others I have tried were time consuming to clean and dry. I need it to be fast.
- I can take it anywhere
- it's great quality - so far no staining or warping of plastic of any kind.
- its fast and surprisingly easy to mash.
- zero noise. when i use the other food makers (particularly blender and processor, it wakes up my son)
- it's cheap

the only downside is you wouldn't be able to make as much as using a food blender. but I can definitely live with that. A must-have for every mom out there.
I will be definitely buying these and giving them as gifts to every baby shower I attend from now on.

Best Review on Waring WPB80 Professional Blender 48 Ounce

Waring WPB80 Professional Blender 48 Ounce

I had a different Waring blender for more years than I can remember. It had a plastic body and membrane buttons with an ice crushing mode. That blender made me believe that I would prefer Waring for a very long time. It died only because the plastic body eventually gave up the ghost (we're talking >10 years) and the motor mounts broke. That ended up messing with the bearings and stuff. With no hesitation I went to get another one. I like the metal body. I was a bit skeptical about the two mode switch, but then on the other model we mostly used the pulse and didn't really care that much about having a lot of speed choices. I'm glad I got it. I see others do not care for the plastic container, but I have no issues with it, and the shape is a key part of why it works so well. It's a tried and true design that was present on the other one I had.

The only think I do not care for is the screw on base. The soft plastic is not an improvement in my mind. It makes it hard to get the blade on and off. This is not enough, however, for me to downgrade my rating. I'd buy another in an instant and recommend it to people I like.

Best Review on Ninja QB900B Master Revolutionary Drink

Ninja QB900B Master Revolutionary Drink

I've recently gotten into a health kick and wanted to make green smoothies for breakfast and lunch. I had been using The Bullet and it worked just ok, but it was way too small because I wanted to make 2 at a time. And it wasn't as powerful as I wanted it to be to make my smoothies, ummm smooth... Anyways, I searched on Amazon to find what I wanted because it's my favorite website and I'm addicted to it. Not to mention that I love reading everyone's reviews because they are very informative and help me make up my mind on what to buy. So, based on reviews I decided to buy the Ninja. I didn't want to wait for it to be shipped so I picked it up at Wal-Mart for $38 (sorry Amazon!). I love this thing! It makes my green smoothies so nice and smooth, and never leaves any chunks of fruit. It's the perfect size to make multiple smoothies at once. I haven't made anything else in it yet, but I already know that it will make awesome margaritas! My favorite part about this blender is that the motor is on top. Ingenious! I can't tell you how many times stuff has leaked out of my regular blender (that I have since tossed) and since you aren't suppose to immerse it in water (go figure!), you have to try to wipe it up as best you can. Anyways, you probably know what I'm talking about and how annoying that is. Well, no more nasty gunk to clean up from a blender base! I haven't used the food processor part, but I know it will come in handy when I want to make salsa.

Love those slushies!

Margaritaville DM0500 Bahamas 36 Ounce Frozen Concoction

The first time we used it, we made margaritas. They came out perfectly! But we're more into on-the-rocks, so that was that. Note that it is dead simple to use, and cleans up very easily. Only ice goes in the ice bowl, other liquids only go in the blender container. The blender container disassembles easily to clean up, dry and reassemble in a couple of minutes, total. The ice bowl and water-catcher just need to be dried.

Since the first batch, like our daughter who has one of the larger units, we just use it to make shave ice and slushies. It is absolutely outstanding at making all of these frozen concoctions.

For shave ice, fill the ice container with ice cubes and use the shave/blend toggle to shave ice. It will make about 2 blender containers full of shaved ice. Put the shaved ice in bowls or paper cups. Pour about a tablespoon of one of the Monin syrups used for coffee drinks, like blueberry or cherry, on each serving of shave ice.

For a slushie, put 12-16 oz of a cold beverage like lemonade or Coke in the blender part. Fill the ice container about half-full with ice cubes, and press the margarita button. For best taste, use drinks made with cane sugar rather than high-fructose corn syrup. HFCS leaves an aftertaste, while sugar is cleaner and crisper. If you can get Mexican Cokes at a store that serves that market, or Kosher Cokes during certain times of the year, they're made with cane sugar. Odwalla lemonade is made with cane sugar, too.

For a really fancy margarita, after a lot of experimenting, we reproduced our favorite -- the super-smooth 19th Hole Margarita from the Mexquite restaurant. For 3 margaritas (the capacity of the Bahamas model): put these into the blender part: 4.5 oz Sauza Hornitas Reposada tequila, 4.5 oz orange juice, 3 oz cranberry cocktail juice, 1.5 oz agave nectar syrup, 1.5 oz Gran Gala orange liqueur, juice of 1.5 limes. Fill the ice container to about 2/3 of its max ice line. Press the margarita button, and when it's done (it'll blend twice so wait for it), it's ready to pour...

(This is the review of the Husband of the account holder): You can and will lose weight with Medifast. Not all of their products are little bits of heaven for your taste buds. In fact none of them taste that great. But that's not the point, the point is losing weight. You will be hungry, you will be tired, you will feel like diving face first into every unhealthy food you see, but with the pounds you will be losing it will be motivation enough to not cheat. Losing weight for people who are not obese is hard. I had 20 lbs to lose and NOTHING worked for me until Medifast! Nothing! Running, portion control, low carb, it was all in vain. It takes less than 1000 calories a day to lose weight this fast. But Medifast is the only safe way of eating like that that I know of. It's not cheap, but think of it this way, if you get a month supply of food, for me it was like buying 20lbs of guaranteed fat loss. I was wearing large t shirts and 34 inch pants. Now I'm a medium in T shirts (I'm muscular) and wear a 31 pants.

Best Review on Progressive International Blender Integrated Cleaning

Progressive International Blender Integrated Cleaning

I already have a high-end blender but I wanted one specifically for smoothies (and maybe bar drinks) so I did my research and purchased the Waring MBB520 - Copper. I have a GE Monogram kitchen (stainless) and when I first put this blender on the counter to make my first smoothie, the first two comments from my friends were along the lines of, "Wow, it looks nice!" ... and I concurred.

Right out of the box all you have to do is quickly wash the glass container and you're good to go. A recipe book was included so I used the strawberry/banana recipe to make my first smoothie. The blender has 3 options: off, low, and high. The glass container fits on the base but not the tight locking fit of some blenders. Actually, I like this better because it allows me to shake things around when I'm making my smoothie (kinda like the way they do it at Jamba Juice). After about 1 min, it was done. The ice and frozen strawberries were blended in with the banana, milk and yogurt. It was smmmmooth and tasted grrrrrreat!

Now comes the part that I hate: cleaning. But cleaning this blender was a breeze because you don't have to take it apart; it is one unit. You just pop the lid off, take it off the base, and rinse it (with light soap if you like). It was pain-free ...

It was so easy and good that I made a second one right away - this time with frozen mangoes and some nutrition powder. I highly recommend this blender. You'll be happy with it!

Oster Metal Geared Ice Crusher

Best Review on Oster BVCB07 Z Counterforms 7 Speed Stainless

Oster BVCB07 Z Counterforms 7 Speed Stainless

I want a blender in addition to my Vita-Mix to take on the road with me so I can continue making 1 or 2 smoothies a day. My smoothie recipe is complex, and puts a blender through its paces. I tried another blender and didn't like it (see my other review), but this less expensive Oster made the cut. It is nearly as good as the best blender I know of (Vita-Mix), and way less expensive to boot. One caveat - I've been using it for 2 weeks now but that is not long enough to know how the motor will hold up compared to the monster motor of the Vita-Mix. Let's just put it this way, the Vita-Mix would be difficult to break even if you were trying. It basically has a life-time guarantee also, but you can buy a lot of Oster for the price of a Vita-Mix.

Pros and cons, pros first. It's obvious this is a mature and refined design. The 6-blade feature is so good that a super strong motor is less necessary. The design and shape of the container is good too, both in terms of mixing ingredients efficiently, and clean-up. The various blending speeds and functions are actually very useful too. I use all the speeds, and the "frozen drink" mode too. All really good -- all in all a really good design and implementation.

There is only one significant con that I am aware of after a few weeks of hard use, high speed on this little guy screams like the banshees from you know where:) I cringe when I use it, and feel I have to warn any nearby innocent before putting the pedal to the metal. I even go so far as to plug my ears. The lower speeds are OK however, your hearing is safe with these.

Summing up, I have not tested every blender out there, but most do not have motors that will stand up to serious use anyway, and I tried to eliminate those at the get go. At this point I'm comfortable saying this blender is excellent in absolute terms, and excellent bang for the buck, very possibly by a pretty wide margin.

Best Review on Magic Bullet MBR 1701 17 Piece Express

Magic Bullet MBR 1701 17 Piece Express

We love this product. We love how compact it is in comparison to a blender so it is easy to pull out and make a quick drink without a big production.

Another great thing about the Magic Bullet is that you can whirl up a drink and drink it right in the same mug or cup you mixed with. There are little rings that screw on when you are done blending so you don't have to drink from a lip with screw marks. We are especially big fans of the coffee mug style lids.

It has a bigger pitcher for mixing up a larger quantity too.

It's a total luxury to whirl up a few ice cubes, a little coffee and some milk (and a bit of sugar) for a drink I'd pay five dollars or more elsewhere.

We also love it for milkshakes and smoothies. We use half and half and frozen fruit for the smoothies and then don't need to add ice cubes

Great for frozen drinks

Read First Before Buy Waring PBB209 Professional Beverage Blender

Waring PBB209 Professional Beverage Blender

One of the hardests task you can ever give to a blender is to have it mix frozen drinks, and after a few tries you learn some things: the smell of a burning motor and the need for a durable blender. Most frozen drinks use ice near room temperature as their primary ingredient. Grind this ice requires a very strong motor, durable blades, and a little knowledge. Waring professional or commercial line Waring blenders will have no problems with preparing frozen drinks which is about as daunting a task as blenders get. Don't be put off by the fact the professional blenders don't have a trillion speeds from ticklish to extreme whirring, you don't need them. I have yet to have any problems with this blender from the day I bought it and I can easily say it's the best blender I've ever used.

P.S. If the free bar tool rebate is still around remember to keep the box.

Hamilton Beach 52147H Versatile Blender

I bought this blender specifically for its feature of having to-go cups. I don't know why other reviewers were upset that the cups were plastic. In my experience, I would much rather have a plastic travel cup than a glass one. And, as someone who has dropped the to-go cups quite a few times, I can gladly say that I am thankful they are durable and made out of plastic! The blender works great. I've made dozens of smoothies in the to-go cups, and it usually takes less than 2 minutes to throw everything in the cup, blend, exchange the blade bottom for the travel bottom, pop in a straw and head out the door. I haven't had the problems other reviewers have had about chunks of ice or fruit left in the jar. It could be because I make sure mine is well-blended before I remove it.

I haven't used the larger pitcher yet for mixing, but I'm seriously considering getting some margarita mix and trying it out tonight. Mmm! I can only imagine that it works even better than the to-go cups because it does use to separate blades for blending.

I highly recommend this product for anyone looking for a new blender. I know that I will be buying one for my sister-in-law for her birthday!

Cuisinart CSB 76ASLT SmartStick 200 Watt Immersion

I got this stick blender because I have a 4 year old smoothie addict and I got tired of cleaning out the big blender a couple of times a day. This thing is great - it makes a perfect smoothie in no time. It's plenty powerful and handles any fruits (even apples) with ease. I haven't used it for sauces and soups as the other reviewers do because I don't know how to make any, but it makes a killer smoothie. The bottom part (the business end) is all stainless steel and detaches easily for cleaning. I don't do this. I just run it in a cup of warm, sudsy water without detaching. The handle is plastic (I wish it had been metal) but it has a nice ergonomic shape and the power button is well placed. One caution: this is not for kids to use! Unlike those hand held beverage "whippers" that look similar, the blades on this thing are wicked SHARP! Really! Also, read the instructions before you use it. Be sure NOT to turn it on until the blades are well submerged into the food or you'll be cleaning food off the ceiling the rest of the day. (Ask me how I know!)

A Smoothie Finish

Best Review on Hamilton Beach Power Multi Function Blender

Hamilton Beach Power Multi Function Blender

I researched blenders like crazy before buying the Ninja Pro. I needed one with at least 700 watts to mainly make raw-vegetable and fruit smoothies, but did not want to shell out the big bucks for a Vitamix or Blendtec. The Ninja Pro was by far the most powerful and best reviewed of my options. After ordering it from Amazon on a Saturday evening, it arrived the next Monday morning (unbelievably fast!!!). I read the manual, washed the Ninja, and made my first smoothie of a banana, fresh kale, cocoa, honey, and almond butter - yum! The mixture contained tiny pieces of kale, but I'm a pulp person, so that's fine! I used the single-serve cup and blade, and cleanup was a snap. Don't think cleanup on the big container, lid, and blade assembly would take long at all - just the three pieces, a squirt of soap, and a rinse. The blades on the big-container assembly are quite imposing, so I was extremely careful when washing and drying for the first time.
The Ninja Pro is a substantial piece of machinery, and I think it will serve me well! It's very, very powerful, and I love the two single-serve containers with lids - just remove the blade, replace with the container top, and in the fridge it goes.

Best Review on Sundesa BB28 MC03 BlenderBottle%C2%AE Classic 28 ounce

Sundesa BB28 MC03 BlenderBottle%C2%AE Classic 28 ounce

I like this product so much, that I decided to write my first review on Amazon! I'm into fitness and drink protein shakes daily between meals. Sometimes it's a challenge during the work week because I'm often in different locations and don't always have access to a blender. I looked on Amazon to see if I could solve my problem and saw this bottle. It looked a bit 'gimmicky' but it has many great reviews, so I bought it.

Pro's
1. It Works! - I can fill it with any amount of protein powder, pack it in my bag,
and head out to work. When it's time to drink a shake, I fill it with some water
and shake it until it's done. There are a few small lumps left, but the quality
of blending is so much better than I've ever used or even expected.

2. Seals Well - One worry I had was that the opening wouldn't seal well while closed
and my shake would leak out during or after use (until I got home to actually wash
it). I was wrong. The small lid snaps on tightly and doesn't leak. Hooray!

3. Cleans Easily - The jar portion has a very wide opening which makes it easy to
reach inside with a sponge. The wire ball cleans easily too as it's made of
stainless steel, so nothing sticks to it.

4. Affordable - Nice.

Con's
1. Tight Lid - As I mentioned, the lid is very tight and prevents leaks. For me it's
great, but I could imagine that for people who have difficulties opening bottles
or for those who lack hand strength, this may be an issue.

2. Illegible Measurements - I can barely read the measurements on the side of the
bottle and I have excellent eyesight, so this will definitely be a problem for
some. At the same time, when I'm filling the bottle with water, it already has
the powder inside it anyways so the measurements are sort of useless for me anyway.

Some reviews mentioned leaking, but I never experienced it... it may be because I screw on the top fairly tightly. This is a solid, well-made product and recommend it highly for anyone who needs to mix powder and water anywhere they happen to be.

Baby Bullet Complete Care System

I received this as a baby gift and so far, its been wonderful. I use mine on a fairly heavy basis a few times a month (I batch cook/freeze/store the food in the freezer so i only spend about every 2-3 weeks heavily cooking and blending in the kitchen) and its held up well. I will usually start on a friday night cooking foods, blending then freezing the batch, then wake up on saturday, blend and freeze more. and sometimes saturday night another batch, etc until i am finished. its a little time consuming, but it beats be having to blend and store food for just a few days. mine eats about 2-3 jars at a setting, and this way i can mix up her veggies and fruits (also started blending chicken with rice and adding veggies or fruit). my only complaint is the 6 serving freezer tray, i need more than just 6 at a time so i just bought an additional pack of cups (6 cups, lids, storage tray) from Baby bullet direct and it came with a 12 serving freezer tray (for the same price that Bed Bath has) besides the $4 shipping, so i can freeze 18 servings at a time. i'll bag the food up and every few days load up the containers and stack them in the fridge. I also use a 3 level steamer from Bed Bath that i got for around $30 and it holds quite a bit of food. i am sure there are easier ways (just buying a steamer, food processor, cups , etc) but this works well for me being a full time working mom. I would have bought this set if i hadnt received it as a gift.

Best Review on The Coconut Tool Stainless Removal

The Coconut Tool Stainless Removal

I first learned about this product from an online video about how to make fresh coconut milk. Since then, I always wanted to try. I personally like a lot of dishes with fresh coconuts but the task of opening one always deterred me. For me, there are 3 steps in opening a coconut. First, make two holes to pour out the liquid. Second, crack through the middle to split it into 2 halves. And lastly, extract the meat from the shells. The third step is by far the hardest and this tool is just the thing for the job.

First off, this thing is made from very high quality and strong stainless steel. I can feel the sturdiness when holding it. It takes a little strength to push it into the coconut and I don't see it bend or give way one bit. Because of its build, I can really feel my strength transferred into the task efficiently. I hate using things that wiggle or bend because you know it's taking power away. This thing really feels like it'll last forever.

Secondly, about its function. When using this, one has to understand how to do it. Brute force is not the way to go. When holding the coconut half in one hand, I will look over it poking with the tool to find a good entry point. From there, I just use enough strength to get the tool a centimeter or two into shell. From there, I'll wiggle it until it opens up more space on the side. I'll then move the tool to the new place and wiggle some more. Rinse and repeat and soon you'll find more and more meat is dislodged from the shell. After a while with this, I'll push it in deeper to try to pry the whole thing loose. I was able to get a perfect half coconut dislodged from the shell in my first attempt! Compared with my old way of doing it with a hammer and knife, this is a world of difference.

Overall, I am happy with the purchase. My old attempt took many times longer and makes a huge mess. I usually do it in the yard. Now, I can finish a coconut in 10 minutes in the kitchen. Great product.

Best Review on Vitamix 5200s Black Featuring Instructional

Vitamix 5200s Black Featuring Instructional

Whenever I saw these blenders being demonstrated in the stores I would stop and listen to the pitch. For over ten years I'd walk away thinking, "Great product, but there's no way I'm spending $400 to $500 on a darn blender."

I make 'everything-but-the-kitchen-sink veggie/fruit smoothies' every morning. After going through about three $50 blenders, each lasting less than a year, I decided to take the plunge. I saw this blender at Costco for around $370, so I did the math. 7 year warranty, 7 cheap blenders at $50 each=$350. O.K., what the heck. What a great decision. I've own it for a year now, and still runs great. Easy to clean. And believe me, there is a significant difference in a smoothie made with one of these and one made with a $50 blender. I never realized how grainy my smoothies were before. Plus, the Vitamix is much faster. I just throw everything in, start on low work it up to high...a minute later a great smoothie.

Now, I know it does much more than make smoothies. I've made Pesto, Coleslaw, and even soup once. Honestly, I still prefer to make soup the old-fashion way, with a good knife and hot pot. With that said, if you buy this just to make smoothies every day, it's worth it. That's primarily what I use it for. Now if you make smoothies once a week, maybe the $50 blender is a better deal for you.

I'll just finish with one of my favorite tool buying sayings, "Buy quality and only cry once, buy cheap and cry everytime you use it." Honestly, I don't miss the $400 I spent last year, but I smile every morning when I have my smoothie. If your on the fence, and think you'd use this product frequently, take the plunge...you'll be glad you did.

Waring TG15 Tailgater Blender

I purchased the Waring 12 volt Blender to use in our caravan. Having unsuccessfully searched everywhere in Australia for a 12 volt blender I decided to order the Waring Blender through Amazon. When it arrived we were immediately impressed with the quality of the unit. I was a bit nervous about buying something sight unseen, more so because my husband normally researches and purchases these sorts of items. If it was no good I'd be in trouble. No problems though he was impressed too. Using the machine for the first time we were amazed at how quietly the blender runs. The plastic jug is solid and has a brilliant lid which really does give a spill proof seal. I haven't tried breaking up ice in it yet but feel confident it will do all the jobs I need it to do. There's only one minor concern. The 12 volt plug is very tight in the sockets in our caravan. We can plug it in and I'm hoping it will get easier with use. It fits fine in the car socket. All it all I couldn't be more impressed and would highly recommend the Waring TG5 Tailgater Blender.

Best Review on Sunwarrior Warrior Blend Powder Vanilla

Sunwarrior Warrior Blend Powder Vanilla

My husband and I have been using this product for over a year now. He is an endurance athlete who often trains for 5+ hours when he's preparing for a race. Sun Warrior gives him easy digestible energy all day long. I love the natural because I can add it to my savory smoothies as well as fruit smoothies. The reviews of people liking Shakeology instead of this is sad to me - it just goes to show how people are so used to tasting fake chemical food they can't appreciate a whole food product when it's right in front of them. Same goes for the reviewers that say the taste is awful. My husband and I love the taste. Anyone who has transitioned to a clean diet, knows when you start eating a clean, healthy, nutritious diet your tastebuds will begin to gravitate to a higher quality food like Sun Warrior.

Mikes Mix Recovery Drink 4lb chocolate

Let me preface this review by stating that I have had VERY poor experiences with other powder workout supplements that I have tried in the past. I have a very sensitive gag reflex when it comes to protein powders in general, so I was skeptical that Mike's Mix would be any different. I WAS WRONG! This stuff tastes GREAT! I simply mix it with 4-6 oz. of water after a workout in a shaker glass and down it. I literally crave it after a workout now!

I have grown to prefer the chocolate formula over the original simply because I couldn't handle the taste of the original unless I had mixed it with some Gatorade as well. The chocolate, however, is rich and smooth with water alone -> herego, less calories! Mike really knows his stuff and has always responded very quickly to any emails I have sent inquiring about his products or customer service issues. He bases his formula on legitimate clinical research published in true academic journals (as opposed to the junk you see in commercial magazines and journals). I am looking forward to trying his sports drink and the new Tangerine Cream flavor very soon!

The lamborghini of blenders and juicers

Best Review on Blendtec HPA 611 25 Blender WildSide White

Blendtec HPA 611 25 Blender WildSide White

I've had this blender for almost a year, and have been very satisfied with everything about it.

First, the following is information that I put together as I was making my own purchase decision.

Amazon has this same product available, in different colors and with different combinations of blending containers, in a bunch of separate listings (and in both the "Home and Kitchen" sections as well as the "Appliances" section) and from different sellers (both Amazon itself, and third party vendors). This makes it difficult to sort out what is available on Amazon, and it also makes it very inconvenient to read through the reviewer comments since they are not all collected in one entry.

To help sort through all of this the following is what I found in doing my own research on this product:

- I believe that essentially there are basically two Blendtec models currently listed on Amazon differing only in the number of cycles that are preprogrammed:
--- One model is the "Total Blender" as designated by Blendtec. It comes packaged with either the "FourSide" blending jar, or the "WildSide" blending jar (see below for explanation of differences), or both.
--- Various colors are available (black, white, or red)
--- The blender has a 1560 watt / 3 peak HP motor
--- It comes with a 7 year warranty (the various Amazon entries have different warranty statements. My blender states 7 year warranty clearly on the box, and on the product registration card included with the blender).
--- The second model is the "Home" or HP3A model, which is not shown on the Blendtec website but is available on Amazon from various sellers. This model has the same base and motor and includes 25 preprogrammed cycles (see below for more detailed explanation).
--- I checked the Blendtec website as well, and they also offer a new "Designer Series" which has the same motor specs but a more sleek design and different controls, as well as a more expensive "Tom Dickson Extreme Blender" which is about twice the price and must be a monster as it has a 2400 watt motor and requires a special 20 amp circuit to be provided. I don't see either of those models being offered today on Amazon although that can always change of course.

- the two blending containers are:
--- "FourSide", which is square with a "nearly 3 inch" blade. It is marked on one side to 4 cups / 32 oz, and on the adjoining side to 1000 ml. The container is narrower at the bottom and widens significantly at the top.
--- "WildSide", which is 5-sided with a 4" blade. It is marked on one side to 36 oz, and on the adjoining side to 1000 ml, but these markings go only to about the halfway point on the container side and it will clearly hold significantly more volume than the FourSide container. The sides of the container continue straight from bottom to top and it is much wider in the lower 3/4 or so than the FourSide. The "5-side" designation comes from the corner just under the handle being flat rather than a pointed corner, so the 5 sides are not equal width. The reason for this design according to the Blendtec materials is that it will shift the center of blending to improve the blending for some types of recipes.
--- Both containers have the same opening size at the top and take the same lid, which is a heavy rubber lid with a square center opening that can be used to add material while blending, or can be closed using the plastic stopper provided
--- The two containers are the same height and will fit together nicely to save space, one inside the other
--- Both blending containers are very heavy plastic and very well made.
--- Bottom line is that both containers are reasonably big, with the "WildSide" container significantly larger than the "FourSide"

This blender is manufactured in the U.S. The included DVD provides a short sales type of presentation on the company including descriptions of the quality of the motor used in the blenders.

This is a nice looking blender on the countertop. It has a modern appearance and the touch pad controls and digital display are well done. (I admit that the white color of our unit would not be my first choice now that I have it in the house. I would prefer either black - which is available, or chrome - which is not). It is not unusually tall (like the Vitamix blender which is its main competitor) and fits nicely on the countertop in the kitchen. The display shows time remaining if a pre-programmed cycle is being used. It will also display the number of times you have operated the blender (similar to industrial equipment that records hours of usage) and is used to display unit status as well as overload or over-temperature conditions if they occur. The power cord is of modest length at 36" and is very heavy and has a nice velcro strap to keep it neat. The main on-off switch is on the back of the blender.

When you use the blender to prepare a fruit smoothie, you simply push the pre-programmed button and it works perfectly. The blender does jump a bit at times and I have noticed other reviewers mentioning that they would like the blender to be heavier in order to prevent such movement. In all of our uses of the blender to date it has worked faultlessly. The containers are particularly easy to clean after use.

- I have noticed that some Amazon entries for these blenders state "6 pre-programmed cycles", and some state "25 pre-programmed cycles". The unit on this page has 25 cycles. This difference initially caused me some confusion as I was researching the blender and trying to make my own purchase decision, and it is not clearly explained in the product information on Amazon. What I learned is this:
--- For the Total Blender model, there are 6 pre-programmed automatic cycles, for smoothies and other recipes. If you go to the Blendtec website you can view the owners manual for the blender and it has a nice illustration of each programmed cycle, showing how it speeds up and slows down over time for each program. (The smoothie program for example runs for 25 seconds and operates the blender at 8 different speeds for different periods during the full programmed cycle).
--- For the HP3A or Home unit, there is a menu of 25 programmed cycles that you can choose from, and there are four buttons (labeled 1-4) which can be programmed to use any of the 25 cycles so that whichever you use most frequently can be easily selected. Beyond these preprogrammed cycles, you can manually control the speed using the "up" and "down" buttons on the blender, and there are 10 available speed settings. Once the speed is set, it will stay at that speed for 50 seconds unless manually stopped. You can also manually "pulse" the blender and it will operate for as long as you hold down the pulse button.
--- Other than the programming difference and number of cycles programmed, there is no difference between the blenders - the base, motor size and power rating, and so forth are all identical.

There are a few entries on Amazon that for whatever reason have collected the greatest number of customer reviews, and there is a lot of good discussion available including various people who have owned both the Blendtec and the Vitamix blenders, so I recommend taking a look at the following entries on Amazon where these reviews can be located:

- Blendtec Home The Professional's Choice Total Blender is the same blender, white, with FourSide container, and as I write this it has 394 reviews posted.
- Blendtec WildSide HP3A Blender is the Home unit blender, black, with WildSide container, 80 reviews currently posted
- Blendtec TB-631-20 Total Blender FourSide, Red is the same blender, red, with FourSide container, 66 reviews currently posted

My own conclusion after reading through many of the other reviews is that both the Blendtec and Vitamix blenders are very good and much more powerful and capable than the typical blender most people use. The Blendtec has the following advantages in my opinion:
--- Blendtec is shorter and will fit on the kitchen countertop without difficulty, whereas the Vitamix is quite tall and in some cases may not fit under your kitchen cabinets
--- Blendtec has pre-programmed cycles and touchpad controls, as well as the ability to control speed manually. Vitamix is manually controlled only.
--- Blendtec appearance is somewhat more modern and less industrial than the Vitamix

Finally, a couple of observations from my study of the reviewer comments on Amazon:

- some people are complaining that the lid leaks through the vent when blending, however more current reviewer comments are suggesting that the current product has a different lid which has solved this problem. My experience has been that this is not a problem and we have not had issues with the lid leaking.
- there are conflicting claims as to whether or not Starbucks and others use either Blendtec or Vitamix blenders. It seems clear that Starbucks has used both blender suppliers at one time or another. My conclusion from the reviewer comments is that Blendtec is currently used at Starbucks but I will check this myself and amend this review when I have done that

I had previously been seriously considering the Vitamix blender and have looked at them at local Williams-Sonoma stores. I was not even aware of the Blendtec when I was initially looking at the Vitamix but I was holding back in purchasing one due to the cost, the very industrial looking appearance, and the height issue. The Vitamix is also somewhat more expensive than the Blendtec. Once I became aware of the Blendtec, and I read through many of the other customer reviews, I was ready to purchase one. So far I am very satisfied with the purchase but there are many more recipes I look forward to trying with this blender and I hope that I am not disappointed.

By the way, Amazon can be quite amazing - they had my blender showing as "shipped" only 3 hours or so after I placed my order, and FedEx delivered it less than 48 hours later.

I've given this blender a 5-star rating partially based upon everything I've read about the unit, as well as our experience in using it for a short time. I would not have ordered it and spent so much money if I did not expect it to be an excellent machine - but we will see how it performs over time and I will update this as I have worthwhile information to add.

As a final comment, if you are considering this blender then I suggest that you keep an eye on Amazon's "Gold Box" daily specials. These Blendtec blenders often are offered for a very good discount from the normal Amazon price. That is how I purchased mine, and just the other day (7/31 or 8/1, can't remember exactly), I think they had two different Blendtec blenders on sale at different times (different colors, packaged with different containers).

Excellent resource for juicers!

Best Review on Juice Ladys Juices Green Smoothies

Juice Ladys Juices Green Smoothies

New to juicing, I purchased this book to help me with recipes. It has everything I need to know about juicing, and has over 400 recipes of different juice blends. While one can certainly figure out through trial and error several good recipes on one's own, I found the book extremely helpful in trying new formulations that I never would have considered. She breaks the book down into several categories as follows: Simple beverages, Gourmet and exotic Juices, Green juices, Fruit Juices, Old Favorites, Juice Remedies and Rejuvenators (my personal favorite(, and Green Smoothies. I have used several of her recipes and found them easy to make and quite palatable. I will never use all 400 recipes, but I am glad they are there in case I am looking for something completely different. You certainly will not need any other juicing book than this one.

Best Review on Blendtec HPA 631 26 Blender WildSide FourSide

Blendtec HPA 631 26 Blender WildSide FourSide

I bought the package that included both size containers because it was cheaper than buying them separate and I wanted to have the flexibility to make a lot or a little and I am glad I did.
First and foremost, this blender is awesome. I love the preset buttons that you can change to make them be whatever cycle you want them to be. It is super powerful and can handle anything I put in there without fear of overheating or breaking. It is super easy to clean as well. I have put it to use daily since I got it and have tried all kinds of fruits and veggies that my previous blender would just shred and the Blendtec makes smooth and creamy and i jave put all kinds of iceand frozen foods in there as well with no problems. The recipe book (an actual book and not a few folded pages) has some terrific starter recipes if you are new to blending, or use them as ideas to expand and get creative. Lots of good pointers as well.
My Blendtec has taken the place of my grinder, food processor and sometimes even my mixer. I have friends that have the Vitamix that wished they would have researched further and purchased the Blendtec after seeing mine in action. Not only does mine have more features, it fits my counter space better and looks a little better on the countertop. I am just in love with this appliance and so glad I did the research and spent the bucks for my new favorite appliance.

The best blender ever

KitchenAid KSB565AC 5 Speed Blender 48 Ounce

This is a solidly build, easy to clean, reliable blender. The glass jar does not stain and hold odors. The button panel smooth and is easy to clean. The motor is powerful. The blender does not "dance" on the kitchen counter even when it does the toughest jobs.

One of the toughest jobs this blender does beautifully is shredding horseradish. The horseradish is hard, absorbs liquid, and burns your eyes especially if you take a long time to make it. My previous blender took so long that I was tearing uncontrollably while preparing my horseradish. This blender is powerful and works so well that I can be done practically without any suffering!

And of course, it does a beautiful job on smoothies, pureed soups, and anything else you might ask you blender to do.
