Best Review on Cuisinart SPB 456 2 Blender Blade
I scored this ice cream maker for $20 at a garage sale yesterday and just served up my first batch of "moolicious" vanilla using a recipe I found online (and doubling it). It is fantastic, superb, wonderful and amazing. Yes, it's loud (seemed to get louder as the ice cream got thicker), but it is fast so the noise is short lived (I put it in the bathroom). It seems more or less foolproof. No regrets. Oh, it took a long time for the liquid in the bowl to freeze and I was afraid it would not, but it was solid this morning when I shook it to test. The ice cream came out very soft, but I put it in the freezer and now have lovely harder ice cream. It's great both ways. Mine was missing the instruction book, but there are many recipes online and you really don't need instructions to operate this (freeze bowl, put in ingredients, put stirrer thingy in, put on lid, turn it on). This is going to be fun, so long as I keep my 6 days/week of running up!

I lost this blade in a move, but I love this blender/food processor duo, so I had to replace it. I've had it about six months and use it about once a week. It's done well.
BalasHapusI can't remember how many of these I have purchased. I wash them in the dishwasher and they eventually crack along the shaft. The rest of the blender is fine so I figure it is worth it to just replace this part when it breaks. My blender gets daily use making protein shakes. Came with a gasket, but they never seem to go bad.

BalasHapusIt was so great to receive this part within one day of ordering. I was prepared to buy a whole new blender when this part disintegrated on my existing blender (we use it alot). But thought I'd see if I could just replace the part. It's just like a brand new appliance. It's perfect.
BalasHapusNot sure what started going wrong with the original parts (blade) but it began to be hard to turn by hand so I bought these parts. Then, the blender blades began working ok, so I put the replacement parts aside. Six to 9 months passed and then my wife was using the blender when smoke and sparks started coming out of it. I checked it out and was dubious about resurrecting it. The blade was locked up tight...couldn't even turn it with a wrench. Being a guy, I whacked it a few times with a hammer, too, just to see what would happen. Anyway, put the new parts in and it worked like new. Saved the expense of buying a new blender!
BalasHapusI am bummed that Cuisinart makes this out of plastic. My original blender blade assembly cracked and it may have been because I tightened it too much. So I bought a replacement. Fits perfectly, fast shipping and decent price.
