One of the hardests task you can ever give to a blender is to have it mix frozen drinks, and after a few tries you learn some things: the smell of a burning motor and the need for a durable blender. Most frozen drinks use ice near room temperature as their primary ingredient. Grind this ice requires a very strong motor, durable blades, and a little knowledge. Waring professional or commercial line Waring blenders will have no problems with preparing frozen drinks which is about as daunting a task as blenders get. Don't be put off by the fact the professional blenders don't have a trillion speeds from ticklish to extreme whirring, you don't need them. I have yet to have any problems with this blender from the day I bought it and I can easily say it's the best blender I've ever used.

Read First Before Buy Ninja 622356527972 NJ600 Pro Blender

We went through two blenders in the last 3 years due to breakage. I now wanted a blender that was powerful, well designed and dependable as opposed to the cheap models. I never heard of Ninja Blenders. To be honest the name is awful. It reminds me of a toy instead of an serious kitchen machine.

While browsing I came upon the Ninja NJ600 30 Professional Blender as stated on the box. 1000 watts. Unbelieveable when most are 450-600w, maybe 700w and not that much more in price. I went to a famous local retailer to check it out. I was impressed with the looks, the weight of the motor and how the 72 oz. pitcher locks in place on top of the motor. Furthermore, the lid also fits tight in place when you line up the two small triangular markings. Once the lid is locked you can lift the entire blender using the handle on top of the lid. IMO, that is quality construction. As a safety feature if the lid is not locked correctly the motor will not run. The power button blinks red. When locked properly in place the power button is a consent red. There is no off button. There are 3 speeds and pulse. When your blend is done, press the power button again as the off button.

Our first blend was a smoothie my 4 year old enjoys drinking of milk, banana, apple and a little rice cereal. I turned it on and the blender was enormously more quieter than a Osters we had previously (irritatingly loud). The blend was very smooth and looked so delicious I wanted to drink it too (but I didn't).

Another fantastic positive point is the SIX patented blades are mounted on a shaft at different levels. This shaft is almost the entire height of the pitcher. Most blenders have their blades on the bottom of the pitcher. Very clever with this blade design that does not create a vortex. Just imagine what a carrot goes through in there :-). Remove the shaft before you pour your mixture. Removing the shaft after use makes cleaning easy.

The spinning rotors mounted on top of the motor doesn't look like metal nor cheap plastic. I don't know the material. The first that came to mind was ceramic because of the matt color tone. To the touch it feels like very hard rubber.

I have a feeling I'll be blending more smoothies the next couple of months than all of 2010 together. Buy a Ninja.

Update 12 Dec. 2010: Since purchase approx. 2 weeks ago I've been blending many different combinations of ingredients daily including cranberries, celery, oranges and other similar fruits or vegetables. Some vegetables do not blend completely smooth as other reviews have stated. Carrots are super fine minced and drinkable. If you strain a carrot mix you'll get a nice drink. I think most commercial vitamin drinks containing carrots has sediment on the bottom of the container and needs to be shaken.

Please remember this is not a $400+ blender (Bentley vs. Lexus) as others have mentioned as comparison which is unfair. Therefore you probably will not get the same results. However, for the price imo I am positive I got the best product. The cheaper blenders are extremely, annoyingly loud. This machine's noise level is acceptable to us. Your noise tolerance may vary of course. Better blender, better drinks.

We had the previous version of the Ninja System and this more powerful new system is superior in every way. The old one broke after less than a year. The blade got stuck on a frozen banana and the engine disconnected from the rotor so we returned it and upgraded. I was very pleased with the price - especially vs. Blendtec or VitaMix both of which we considered. For the price of the Ninja system we figured it would be worth trying. I am using protein shakes as a meal replacement as part of an aggressive weight-loss plan and use the blender at least twice a day. The single serving option is amazing. With the old Ninja I would get little chunks of ice or fruit at the bottom. Now they come out completely smooth. I originally bought this to use as a "Shakeology" dupe because I'm doing Insanity and can't afford the real thing. My research led my to this product. It has an impressive list of ingredients and the taste is not bad at all. It tastes best in my opinion when I blend it with ice and use almond milk (or any lowfat milk). I tried it with apple juice but found it to be super sweet and with water it tastes kind of chalky. I am currently using this shake as a substitute for breakfast. I also read that these type of shakes are good for your health when dealing with cholesterol or high blood pressure for example. And I have been dealing with high blood pressure problems for the past 4 years, it's hereditary. My numbers were always around 137/93 or the lowest being 128/89. I work out and have made changes to my diet and have tried all type of natural ways like taking certain vitamins/supplements but the numbers still won't drop unless I take prescription pills (which I refuse to take because I'm stubborn like that and don't like the idea of being on pills for the rest of my life). Anyhow I've been drinking my Fruitein shake once per day for about 1 week and my blood pressure dropped to normal! 120/80 or 119/77 for example..I couldn't believe it! This is the only thing different thing that I've been doing so it has to be this shake. I would rather drink this shake everyday than take a pill. I am a fan for life and I want to try the green foods version next.

This is a pretty good blender for $20. I've only had it for about half a week, but it handled a banana and apple smoothie made with ice just fine on the "liquefy" setting.
I knew when I bought it that I wasn't going to be getting the world's greatest blender, but for this price range I feel pretty satisfied so far and I think that a person could get daily use out of it for at least a few years if they were gentle with it. There are probably some duds out there, but mine's not bad at all and I wanted to leave a positive review to help other buyers hear about my good experience with the blender.

I also think it's worth noting that more people probably leave reviews when they have a bad experience than when they have a good one. It might look 60:40, but it's probably more 90:10.

I've had this blender about 3 weeks now and I use it about 4 times a week. It works really great. I like to make fruit smoothies to replace lunches some days. I don't use the drinking attachment that goes with it. I drink these at home, and just pour them in a cup. The only thing that is a negative for me is I use ice cube trays for ice, and it wont break up the large pieces of ice. I have to put some ice cubes in a ziploc bag and smash them with a tenderizer to break them up lol. My favorite smoothie is soy milk, crunchy peanut butter, banana, tofu, and honey. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a single serving size blender.

Update:
After about 2 months of use, the part where the blender attaches to the base began to rub. I would put the cup on the base, and the motor spins the metal teeth inside. The part where they attach is made of rubber, which would get very hot and melt. After a while it stopped spinning because it didn't fit together anymore. I was very disappointed with this!!

Best Review on Ninja NJ602 Kitchen System 1100

If you are looking for a traditional juicer that removes all the fiber and leaves you with watery consistency juice, this product is NOT for you. However, if you want to keep the fiber in your drinks I would HIGHLY recommend the Ninja.

We now use it every day to make healthy veggie and fruit drinks. The combinations are endless - today's drink is chard, carrots and banana, yesterday's was chard, carrot apple and ginger. We love that the fruits and veggies get pulverized into a drinkable state because we get to enjoy the benefits of the extra fiber in our diets. We have had no trouble drinking them through a relatively small straw. If you can't handle a juice drink with pulp in it, you will hate the juice made from the Ninja.

That said, I haven't used any of the other features of the Ninja Kitchen System. I have a countertop Kitchen Aid mixer that I love so I see no need to try to mix cookie batter in the Ninja. But it does come with several mixing attachments so if you need a more versatile kitchen appliance, this might do the trick.

It does wonders with ice so if you like icy summer drinks it will be perfect.

I've had this blender for about three months now. It has mixed everything I put in reliably, including a few smoothies that had "too much" frozen fruit in them.

Advantages for this blender:
1. The lid stays on. Suction cups hold the blender in place. You can, in fact, turn the 908 on and walk away for thirty seconds. When you come back, your drink is blended. Period.
2. Blends smoothly and without hassle. If frozen fruit/ice gets hung up partway down the blender, just let it mix. It will take care of itself.
3. Dark blue color hides drips. Yes, you still clean it. :-) But it doesn't look dirty forever because water splashed on it once.
4. The pitcher is easy to pour cleanly. My old blender made me think I was clumsy because it almost always spilled!
5. Pitcher does not need to be placed precisely on the base, or facing a certain way, to blend.
6. Pitcher is bigger than it appears. This has a 44 oz/1.25 liter capacity.
7. Blender is designed to clean fully with a rinse of the pitcher and lid.

Disadvantages for this blender:
1. Dark blue color will look out of place in most kitchens.
2. Just has High and Low settings, not a lot of "features". Unless you have very specific needs, the extras don't make a better blender. You don't need pulse to crush ice; this crushes ice on High. Nobody can tell if their drink was mixed on "Whip" or "Frappe" or "Cream" - it should just be blended! Timers don't matter when the blender does its job in 30 seconds every time.

TL;DR version: This blender is made to be used in bars, by people who don't care about it. It blends frozen drinks thoroughly, without needing attention, and cleans with a quick rinse. It has managed everything I put in within the 30 seconds claimed. This includes some drinks that would have overwhelmed my old blender.

I was looking for a baby food mill for my youngest grandson (having used one for my kids and my older grandkids) so I was thrilled to be offered this set to review.
The Munchkin Fresh Feeding Starter set is a great idea! It consists of 3 items:

1. The Munchkin Baby Food Grinder - I LOVE this thing and have loved it since I purchased my first one 31 years ago! BTW, it never broke, it was merely outgrown. Yes, I have a high end food processor, and a blender, both would mush up food. But, neither of which will fit in a diaper bag! And that is where this grinder comes into it's own. We use it all the time in restaurants. It's also a blessing when visiting, as baby food can be made from the same meal the others are sharing. I find it easy to use, a snap to clean, and very effective in use. No plug in or batteries required! BONUS!

2. The Fresh Food Freezer Trays - These are basically ice cube trays with covers. They are designed to freeze, then store the prepared food. Instead , I find they are useful to freeze the food, but then pop them out and store in a freezer bag. That allows the trays to be put right back into service, important to us, as we grow much of our own food and process large quantities at a time.

3. The 2-in-1 Chopper/Steamer - The chopper is very similar to a TV product where you open a lid, place food inside, and when the lid is closed, the food is pushed through blades into a container below. This particular one has only one blade that cuts into square shapes. You remove the cutter portion of the set, replace it with the steamer lid, and microwave. The result is then the perfect finger foods for older babies, or they could be put though the grinder for the youngest eaters.

Overall, if fresh, homemade, wholesome baby food is your goal, this kit has it all.

I got this stick blender because I have a 4 year old smoothie addict and I got tired of cleaning out the big blender a couple of times a day. This thing is great - it makes a perfect smoothie in no time. It's plenty powerful and handles any fruits (even apples) with ease. I haven't used it for sauces and soups as the other reviewers do because I don't know how to make any, but it makes a killer smoothie. The bottom part (the business end) is all stainless steel and detaches easily for cleaning. I don't do this. I just run it in a cup of warm, sudsy water without detaching. The handle is plastic (I wish it had been metal) but it has a nice ergonomic shape and the power button is well placed. One caution: this is not for kids to use! Unlike those hand held beverage "whippers" that look similar, the blades on this thing are wicked SHARP! Really! Also, read the instructions before you use it. Be sure NOT to turn it on until the blades are well submerged into the food or you'll be cleaning food off the ceiling the rest of the day. (Ask me how I know!)

Read First Before Buy Rubbermaid Commercial Products FG1964000000 Scraper

I've used Le Creuset spatulas for years, but after a few of mine succumbed to various disasters I decided to follow Cook's Illustrated's recommendation and try out the Rubbermaid spatulas. This size is equivalent to the Le Creuset medium size and is great for everyday use. It's the size I reach for 9 times out of 10, only occasionally do I need the larger size (Le Creuset Super or Rubbermaid 13 1/2).

These are stiffer than the Le Creuset spatulas. I haven't decided yet if that's good or bad, I suppose it is both. I've had times where it was good and times where it wasn't.

The plastic handle isn't as pretty as the Le Creuset, but it is a heck of a lot more practical. It won't split or warp or break like my Le Creusets have done. And it is sealed to the blade, so no need to pull them apart for cleaning and drying like the Le Creusets.

As Cooks Illustrated pointed out, the flatter blade on the Rubbermaids is nice, makes it easier to clean it off on the edge of a bowl. The Le Creusets have a more pronounced bump along the center of the blade that leads to a bunch of extra swiping to get most of the food off the blade.

All in all a great spatula and in a drawer with one of these and three or four Le Creusets I'll reach for this one every time.

Just received this today. I was a little worried about the picture quality when the AIP opening began playing. Although the quality of the US opening didn't look too good, the actual episodes look better than I've ever seen them (much better than when I watched them on our black and white TV back in the 70s). It's not state of the art high-definition, but it looks great, maybe even better than Star Trek The Original Series - The Complete First Season that was released before it was remastered.

Any fan of kaiju such as The Godzilla Collection and Ultraman: The Complete Series should love this series. It is my favorite of all the ones I've seen--partly because of how much I wanted my own Giant Robot as a kid, but also because of how the series develops the relationships of the characters and resolves the battle between Unicorn and the Gargoyle Gang.

This is THE OFFICIAL RELEASE produced from the original prints and is the best quality ever to hit the US--not to mention it's legitimate. Unfortunately there are no special features, but the set does come with a terrific 24-page booklet with some information even long-time fans like me never knew.

Note: for some reason fans of Giant Robo - Economy Pack do not seem to enjoy this series. If you fall into this category, you may not appreciate this the way those of us who consider this a cult classic do.

I've been using this to mix up various Cytomax protein products, and it works great. If you've been mixing using a glass and spoon, you'll be amazed at how improved your supplement is after a shake in this bottle, no more poorly-mixed, grainy mud.

Update: I've now been using this bottle regularly for about a year and a half. It still works great. Seals well, cleans easily.

Tips:
1) Put about 1/2 inch of water in before adding your powder. This will help prevent bits of dried powder from accumulating along the bottom edge, where it's hard for the mixer ball to reach.

2) Rinse it out as soon as you're done with it. As long as I rinse it out (a couple swirls, then fill it half way, close it, shake it, and rinse it again) immediately after use, it doesn't seem to require any more significant cleaning. If I forget about it and it dries up overnight, then I have to break out the scrub brush.

We've had this for about a month now. It has already saved me so much money from Jamba Juice visits, and the smoothies taste just as good. I bought a super package of disposable straws and my kids are nuts about drinking the smoothies. I figured out that it's important to put liquids in the bottom, below the frozen fruit, otherwise it gets stuck. Also, since it's small, I shake it sometimes during blending. The key is to put enough liquid in there - always more than I think I'm going to need. The best drinks I made - plain yogurt, water, frozen mango and pineaple chunks, and bananas. Or, crushed ice, creamer, equal or splenda, and coffee are like a low calorie frappucino - love it. I buy big bags of frozen fruit at Costco - they have berries, mango, pineapple, everything. Even if it just lasts me 1 or 2 years, it's a huge savings over my Jamba Juice addiction!!

General
I've tried a couple of whey protein brands in the past and this one is by far the best. It's the best price for quality in the market and ON really put in some effort to develop a quality product.

Cutting or bulking. Works excellent both ways.
I started using this product in a cutting cycle Feb '11, after being off from working out seriously for about 1-2 years. This helped me drop from a 19% body-fat to a 6.5% (current) without losing any considerable muscle mass (my arms stayed at around 16' through the whole process). After I dropped to a low BFP I started a bulking cycle a couple of weeks ago to try and reach 17ish size in my arms, and then drop body-fat until I'm happy.

I'm telling you, either if it's bulking or cutting if you combine this product with a solid diet you're going to have awesome results.

Serving Size
24gr of protein per serving is pretty good considering that the scoop is relatively small, which means that this product is highly concentrated (being a whey protein isolate).

Flavors
So far I've tried (in both water and skim milk): double rich chocolate, french vanilla, vanilla ice cream, strawberry and cookies and cream. The big winner for me has to be cookies and cream, not to sweet not to stale, just perfect, takes like real ice-cream without that sugary feel. Second place are the vanillas which taste pretty much the same, with a very imperceptible flavor, you might want to try this one if you're planning to make shakes adding other stuff in (such as bananas, peanut butter, etc). Third place comes the chocolate, which tastes like dark chocolate (kind of a sour flavor) which some people love, but I'm not a big fan of. In last comes strawberry, this one tastes like pure sugar for me. It tasted a little better when mixing with milk, but I couldn't believe the label when it said it contained the same amount of sugar as the other flavors because it's just TOO sweet.

Conclusion
I try to maintain protein intake at 1gr per lbs when cutting and 1.5-2gr per lbs when bulking, this is the perfect supplement to achieve those high protein levels. For me, this product constitutes approximately of 40-50% of my daily protein intake and I wouldn't change it for anything in the world.

Recommendation
If you have a bigger budget you might want to consider ON's HydroBuilder for after training, and taking 100% Gold Standard Whey throughout the day.

Better than expected

I got this stick blender because I have a 4 year old smoothie addict and I got tired of cleaning out the big blender a couple of times a day. This thing is great - it makes a perfect smoothie in no time. It's plenty powerful and handles any fruits (even apples) with ease. I haven't used it for sauces and soups as the other reviewers do because I don't know how to make any, but it makes a killer smoothie. The bottom part (the business end) is all stainless steel and detaches easily for cleaning. I don't do this. I just run it in a cup of warm, sudsy water without detaching. The handle is plastic (I wish it had been metal) but it has a nice ergonomic shape and the power button is well placed. One caution: this is not for kids to use! I ordered Vanilla Ice Cream before and it is great. French Vanillia is good too but it tastes a lot sweeter and the vanilla taste is more pronounced. It's not bad, just more intense. However, I'll be going back to Vanilla Ice Cream henceforth.

I like vanilla because it can become any of the other flavors by mixing in fruit, instant or real coffee, cocoa powder or greek yogurt.

The protein itself worked well for me. I could tell within a few weeks that it helped and I'm currently in the process of lifting weight and losing fat.

It mixes well but it can clump if you add it to a wet bottle or glass and don't mix it after adding your liquid. This happened to me even with a blender bottle but, it did not clump where it was undrinkable. It was more like orange juice pulp sized. I now just add a enough liquid (almond milk in my case) to start the dissolve process then add greek yogurt on top of that and then finish with the milk and that's solved it for me.

It's a versatile blender: I have crushed frozen veggies, fresh broccoli, fresh kale, pineapples, apples, oranges, and bananas in this thing with some juice/milk. The broccoli it tends to take longer to grind down and sometimes gets stuck. Initially, you'll still get the texture of the broccoli florets in your smoothie, but if you put the pitcher in the fridge for a while, the texture dissolves.

I've found usually the trick to make the blender go again with all that wave-action goodness is just to add more liquid so it has more to work with for churning.

Except for the broccoli, this has blended everything very quickly - 30 seconds to a minute. The broccoli takes 5-7 minutes (with checking and adding liquid and sometimes poking things around in the blender).

The blender has four settings, but it feels basically like two: heavy duty for ice/smoothies. More lightly for milkshakes and salsa. (the four settings are basically: pulse heavy duty (you have to hold the button down) , pulse lightly (hold button down), button for heavy duty (you press it and leave it), button for light (you press it and leave it).

For the average joe, the fact that there are two settings is not a problem. My sister has a really fancy high-end blender. It's much much noisier than this one (this one is okay, though I still like to wear earplugs while blending. It's tolerable without earplugs though,e specially when it blends so quickly.) I don't know if she's ever used it on any more than two settings (very light and very heavy duty).

The high-end blender takes a long time to crush thinks like broccoli + ice too, but it does it more finely. That is the only advantage I have found to the high-end blender over this one.

What I like about this one that the high-end blender doesn't satisfy however are:
- really wide container so it's so easy to clean, most things don't even get stuck in the blades
- the glass + pitcher shape are very classy and this blender is really designed for convenience - use the blender, use the container as a serving pitcher. I love just sticking left-over smoothie mix straight into the fridge after picking up the pitcher from the mixing base.
- the cap seals tightly and has a really nice spout for serving and also a flap if you want to stick something in last minute but don't want to lift the whole lid off, or need to poke a chopstick into the mixer to jog some things around.

One of my happiest first kitchen-ware buys!

The price is scary, but it`s so worth it! First of all I use less make up when applying (just a pea size on the cheeks and forehead, and a bit where needed). I bounce the dump sponge all over my face and that`s it! Flawless, natural look. Even my husband commented! It`s Allure editor award choice, I know why! For me it`s the best make up applicator (I used foundation brush, make up regular sponge, and my favorite till now fingers).
I`m happy I bought the cleanser, only because I can place sponge on top to dry, and later I replace liquid with other delicate soap. The average life of the sponge supposed to be 3 months, but I predict longer (just clean it delicately), because I don`t wear make up everyday. Easy to clean and storage. I recommend to buy a double pack at once, it`s better value.
