I make myself a smoothie or milkshake 3-4 times a week. For years I have used a regular blender and been frustrated by the hassle of having to start and stop it, break the air-pocket at the bottom with a spoon, etc. Bottom-line was the old Waring just was not meant for working with thick liquids -- blends at the bottom and does nothing at the top. So I did the usual online research and and came across the Ninja. After six months I can happily say it rocks! No more air-pockets. This thing does the job just about instantly. Brilliant design -- very different from a regular blender. One word of caution though - the blades on this puppy are razor sharp! I cut my finger pretty deep just unpacking it. It's also very easy to clean - just be careful of the sharp blades. Very durable. Also note I have not used this blender for anything other than frozen drinks.

I am a huge skeptic and rarely purchase anything advertised in an infomercial, but I am so glad I bought this! This works exactly as advertised! It pulverizes ice in no time and makes the most wonderful drinks and smoothies. I also use it to prepare dinner, and even mix up the batter for banana bread. It's always on my counter and never leaves! Everything (except the motor of course) is dishwasher and microwave safe. My two year old was recently diagnosed with a gluten allergy and with this machine I can make her nutritious smoothies for breakfasts and snacks since she can no longer eat many of her favorite breakfast foods. She absolutely loves them! I really cannot imagine being without this appliance-it has become irreplaceable in my kitchen!
BalasHapusI love this appliance! I often make what I call pancake bars, where I fill a silicone bar mold with pancake batter and then bake. I use the large pitcher to blend everything together and then pour it out directly into the pan. The batter is smooth and creamy with no lumps, I have found that layering the milk, dry mix and eggs works better that just dumping it all in at one. One of favorite uses of this machine is onion chopping! I can make them as coarse or as fine as I want, and when I make the dressing for my pasta slaw, I use it to blend everything together and it comes out great every time. I have never seen "sugar" ice before but I tell you this thing can put the whoop on ice cubes! The only negative thing I can say, is that sometimes after I add the ingredients they make the stem with the blades off balance, and you can not get the power pod to sit on the lid. So you either have to wiggle the stem around, or worse yet, remove it and take the ingredients out and then assemble it all again. This does not happen often but it can, and is a minor issue. I had the previous edition and gave it to a friend after buying this one. She stated she used a lot last summer making smoothies for her two boys and really likes it. Clean up is very easy, does not take up a lot of storage space. I think you only have to use it once to see that it is worth the money and will save you time with your food prep.

BalasHapusI bought this blender because I heard they were good and I was about to go on a diet that required a lot of smoothie making. I was tired of my old blender and having to keep open the thing up and move the contents around to get it to mix again. I have to say I was skeptical when I took it out of the box. All the pieces and the blades that looked like regular food processor made me think that this might not be all it's cracked up to be. Boy was I surprised! I put frozen fruit, powder, crushed ice and milk and filled the large carafe nearly to the top. I popped on the blender top and pushed the button. There was no loud crushing noises, no food stuck, just a smooth stirring motion that turned my frozen goods into a beautiful smoothie in less than 60 seconds! I LOVE THIS THING! I have used it everyday since with the same results with all kinds of different ingredients. It is simple to take apart, rinse off and store. No messy blender blade bottom to clean out because everything comes apart! BUY THIS! You will NOT regret it!
BalasHapusThis is probably the best and most useful thing I've ever used in my kitchen. The fact that the electrical portion is not connected to the rest of the machine and the blades are removable, makes it so simple to clean as well as to store anything you use it for. I would recommend this to anyone and it's just as good a price as anything comparable.
BalasHapusMy wife thought i was nuts when i came home with it. After several weeks of encouraging her to try it, she is pretty impressed. The Ninja excelled at a lot of things. It makes a great smoothie, chopped onions evenly, crushed a pitcher full of ice into snow. Functionality of the ninja is unmistakable. I will say it's takes a second to figure out how to line up the motor to the lid to the blades. Other than that, i really like it.
BalasHapusPros:
Easy to clean
Pretty Light
Various size bowls
Crushes ice to snow
Tons of power
Double blades cut much cleaner
Cons:
The motors is a bit heavy and has no easy handles
Needs a very small bowl
Plastic parts seem flimsy
Lining it up for use can be frustrating
