I like this product so much, that I decided to write my first review on Amazon! I'm into fitness and drink protein shakes daily between meals. Sometimes it's a challenge during the work week because I'm often in different locations and don't always have access to a blender. I looked on Amazon to see if I could solve my problem and saw this bottle. It looked a bit 'gimmicky' but it has many great reviews, so I bought it.
Pro's
1. It Works! - I can fill it with any amount of protein powder, pack it in my bag,
and head out to work. When it's time to drink a shake, I fill it with some water
and shake it until it's done. There are a few small lumps left, but the quality
of blending is so much better than I've ever used or even expected.
2. Seals Well - One worry I had was that the opening wouldn't seal well while closed
and my shake would leak out during or after use (until I got home to actually wash
it). I was wrong. The small lid snaps on tightly and doesn't leak. Hooray!
3. Cleans Easily - The jar portion has a very wide opening which makes it easy to
reach inside with a sponge. The wire ball cleans easily too as it's made of
stainless steel, so nothing sticks to it.
4. Affordable - Nice.
Con's
1. Tight Lid - As I mentioned, the lid is very tight and prevents leaks. For me it's
great, but I could imagine that for people who have difficulties opening bottles
or for those who lack hand strength, this may be an issue.
2. Illegible Measurements - I can barely read the measurements on the side of the
bottle and I have excellent eyesight, so this will definitely be a problem for
some. At the same time, when I'm filling the bottle with water, it already has
the powder inside it anyways so the measurements are sort of useless for me anyway.
Some reviews mentioned leaking, but I never experienced it... it may be because I screw on the top fairly tightly. This is a solid, well-made product and recommend it highly for anyone who needs to mix powder and water anywhere they happen to be.
This product does exactly what it's supposed to do, blends powders for drinks. I've used several other protein shakers in the past, most specifically the Bodytech - Bodytech Shaker Bottle, 1 piece and I always have drinks that come out not completely mixed. It's pretty disgusting to be drinking a protein shake and take a bit out of a big clump of unblended whey powder. I can vigorously shake one of those shakers for 20 minutes and not get results as effective as 10 seconds with the Blenderbottle. It doesn't even require much effort, since the blenderball does most of the work (rather than your arm). The lid on the top fits very snugly. Unlike other shakers where I have to hold down the lid to prevent it from opening up while I'm shaking it and spraying my drink everywhere, the lid on the Blenderbottle is very secure. For the first few days I covered it up with my hand while I blended, because I was afraid it would open up, but finally realized that it wasn't going anywhere. The bottle is very easy to clean, and I usually just rinse off the wire blenderball with water.
BalasHapusMy only problem with the bottle, is that the measurement markings are clear (same color as bottle). It would be nice if they were an offset color so I could quickly read a measurement without having to hold the bottle up 2 inches from my face. But other than that, I couldn't ask for a better product.
I love my Blender Bottle! The design proves, once again, that some of the best innovations are simple modifications of existing approaches -- and proves also that aesthetic touches can make a world of difference in the experience of a product.
BalasHapusFor a long time, I'd been using a generic brand of shaker for my protein shakes and other beverages. It was ugly, felt a bit cheap, but did the job -- to an extent. My drinks didn't taste very smooth, but I tolerated that -- and I could get them to a pretty decent consistency if I shook the bottle long enough and hard enough.
I bought this one after seeing the rave reviews and hoped they were right. They were. There are several advantages to this type of shaker over the other one I've used:
1. It looks good -- yes it is made of plastic but it is a rugged plastic, that feels solid; the edges are smooth and there are no lines that indicate an inferior manufacturing process.
2. The cap goes on smoothly -- with my other bottle I had to keep trying to get the cap to fit the groove and go on tight. If I got it wrong then it would leak when I started shaking. With this cap I've never had problems.
3. The "lip" that covers the drinking hole stays open or shut as you like -- with my other bottle I had to hold it shut with my thumb while I was shaking, and then when I would drink it kept flipping back to hit my lip, so I had to hold it open. This one stays shut if it is shut and doesn't flip back when it is open.
4. The real innovation here is the "whisk" style steel ball that rolls around as you shake and really breaks up any solids you put in there. I have a powdered green tea that dissolves only with difficulty, but the whisk seems to break it up very easily.
5. It is easy to clean -- I keep mine at my office where I don't have a dishwasher, so I wash it by hand between uses -- and because the lines are clean and because it is fairly wide at the opening, I can reach in there with a sponge and really get it clean.
If you are in the market for a shaker bottle I can't imagine you'll find one better than this one.
Well for one thing, this product works. Very, very well. I've used many different shakers for making protein shakes or whatever else and this one is far and away the best.
BalasHapusIt seals really well, nothing leaks out and nothing is a mess. It's easy to clean. And best of all it really really blends whatever is inside.
I put 4 big scoops of powder into this guy and some water and such and then even crushed ice, and it blends everything together very nicely. No chunks no leaking no mess and even blends the ice in nicely.
Don't bother with other shakers.
Okay so maybe my title is a little much but this product is awesome. I recently starting drinking whey protein shakes and thought that I could just stir vigorously enough with a spoon. Well after 1 week of drinking clumpy shakes, I bought two of these based on the positive reviews and great price. I tried it the first time, and wow, my orange vanilla shake was perfect and absolutely clump free. The bottle does NOT leak. Cleanup is as easy as it gets (for perspective, I'm a bachelor so when I say clean up is easy, I mean it's really easy). So, onto the life altering part. Before I was just stirring with a spoon and drinking the shake. This was rather unwieldy and difficult to do at work and just a huge annoyance in general. With the blender bottles, I make a couple shakes the night before and drink one on the way to work and put the other bottle in the office kitchen. It really couldn't be easier. And just to really drive the point home, the bottles DO NOT LEAK AT ALL. Also, I don't need to buy a blender that would cause even more cleanup just to make a shake. This product is is truly one of those things that makes life easier. If I didn't get these blender bottles, that tub of whey protein I purchased would have been in the dumpster by now.

BalasHapusThis is great for making shakes. I also use it for scrambled eggs and works like a charm. I will be ordering more of these bottles. Can't recommend enough for shakes or mixing eggs!
BalasHapusLike the prior reviewer, I have tried in frustration to use the cheap, freebie mixers from supplement orders. All suffered from two problems; leaks (protein shake on your gym shirts/shorts - Arrgh.) and poor mixing of whey protein and other powders.
BalasHapusThis shaker bottle has a tight fitting screw on lid, and a securely closing pop-open top that have never leaked, not once.
I thought that the stainless steel "blender ball" seemed like a gimmick but it WORKS GREAT, mixing even hard-to-mix supps like BCAAs well. Whey powder, Gatorade powder and such are a breeze. Just make sure you have an ounce or two of liquid on the bottom before adding powder and you're set.
