The torque of this blender can handle anything I throw at it; it has never bogged down. I mostly make fruit + vegetable + ice smoothies. The blender is no louder than other weaker blenders I've used. The blender-to-motor coupler is made of metal (cheaper blenders use plastic, which can wear quickly). The large size is excellent for big batches of smoothie. The tall lid has three layers of sealing stripes, making for a very good seal. The only small complaint I have is that "low speed" isn't low enough for me. The blades spin so fast that I never need "high speed" for my smoothies, even when making a full-load of smoothie. "Low speed" is still fast enough that non-liquids sometimes bounce/float over the blades rather than fall into the blades and get chopped. For example, if I cut a few large apples into quarters and put them in the blender, "low speed" sometimes juggles the apple chunks rather than blending them simply because the blades are spinning too fast. To solve this problem, I use very short bursts of the "pulse" button. This allows the apple chunks to settle back down in-between the blades so that they can be blended the next time I press "pulse". Once the items have been blended enough to form 2-3 inches of liquid at the bottom of the blender, everything blends smoothly.

Besides that small quibble, I am a happy customer and would buy this product again.

Hello All, I have been using this since mothers day, thats when I purchased it, so officially I drank my first smoothie on the morning of 5-14-12, I have to admit that I have been feeling an overall feeling of well being, that I did't have before. Before my legs where pretty sore after work, and would sometimes be very stiff when first getting up out of bed. I work a utilities job at a factory,so I am on and off of a fork truck for 12 hrs. a day, for days a week, ( 4 on 4 off schedule) this job can where on you, pretty good on most days. Since I started drinking a smoothie before work, and about half way through the day at work, my energy levels have increased dramatically at work, and my joint stiffnes when getting out of bed is gone, for all practical purposes. there are some good recipes in the book that come with the Nutribullet, but most of my smoothies consist of , 2 cups spinach, 1 cup wild blueberries, 4 0r 5 raspberries , sometimes 1 carrot, and a tablespoon full of miled flax seeds. and half of a small apple. this mix seems to be making all the difference for me.. I make myself a smoothie or milkshake 3-4 times a week. For years I have used a regular blender and been frustrated by the hassle of having to start and stop it, break the air-pocket at the bottom with a spoon, etc. Bottom-line was the old Waring just was not meant for working with thick liquids -- blends at the bottom and does nothing at the top. So I did the usual online research and and came across the Ninja. After six months I can happily say it rocks! No more air-pockets. This thing does the job just about instantly. Brilliant design -- very different from a regular blender. One word of caution though - the blades on this puppy are razor sharp! I cut my finger pretty deep just unpacking it. It's also very easy to clean - just be careful of the sharp blades. Very durable. Also note I have not used this blender for anything other than frozen drinks.

I like this product so much, that I decided to write my first review on Amazon! I'm into fitness and drink protein shakes daily between meals. Sometimes it's a challenge during the work week because I'm often in different locations and don't always have access to a blender. I looked on Amazon to see if I could solve my problem and saw this bottle. It looked a bit 'gimmicky' but it has many great reviews, so I bought it.

Pro's
1. It Works! - I can fill it with any amount of protein powder, pack it in my bag,
and head out to work. When it's time to drink a shake, I fill it with some water
and shake it until it's done. There are a few small lumps left, but the quality
of blending is so much better than I've ever used or even expected.

2. Seals Well - One worry I had was that the opening wouldn't seal well while closed
and my shake would leak out during or after use (until I got home to actually wash
it). I was wrong. The small lid snaps on tightly and doesn't leak. Hooray!

3. Cleans Easily - The jar portion has a very wide opening which makes it easy to
reach inside with a sponge. The wire ball cleans easily too as it's made of
stainless steel, so nothing sticks to it.

4. Affordable - Nice.

Con's
1. Tight Lid - As I mentioned, the lid is very tight and prevents leaks. For me it's
great, but I could imagine that for people who have difficulties opening bottles
or for those who lack hand strength, this may be an issue.

2. Illegible Measurements - I can barely read the measurements on the side of the
bottle and I have excellent eyesight, so this will definitely be a problem for
some. At the same time, when I'm filling the bottle with water, it already has
the powder inside it anyways so the measurements are sort of useless for me anyway.

Some reviews mentioned leaking, but I never experienced it... it may be because I screw on the top fairly tightly. This is a solid, well-made product and recommend it highly for anyone who needs to mix powder and water anywhere they happen to be.

People who give bad reviews to this product are using it beyond what it was intended. If you're looking to dice and slice, of course, you're going to wear the blades out. There are other products for that!

I use my Hamilton Beach blender exclusively for protein shakes. Every morning, I blend bananas, protein shake mix and ice cubes. It makes the most perfect shakes! I love the fact that a travel lid is included, so you can take it on the road. I'm often not hungry when it comes to breakfast, but stuck in an early morning commute, the travel shake is easy to consume.

I always take a shake with me when I need an early morning start. I also take it on every vacation and make breakfast shakes in my hotel room. Hotel ice cubes tend to be softer and blend the most terrific shakes of all.

I've had my Hamilton Beach personal blender for a year now and it's fabulous! I love it so much that I've also bought it as gifts for other friends. Do not hesitate to buy this product!

I haven't used supplements before, so I did quite a bit of research before ordering this. Here is my experience:

Tastes great - well, I guess I wouldn't just eat the powder for fun, but I find the taste very pleasant. I was nervous after doing research. Apparently a lot of the stuff out there is just nasty. I mix a scoop with 8 oz of skim milk and actually enjoy drinking it.

Disolves quickly, though you do have to stir it quite thoroughly. That isn't a complaint, just an observation. It might be easier in a shaker.

It does what it is supposed to do. It ups my protein intake and helps with my recovery from workouts. My goal isn't to become super bulky, but I am trying to regain some of my muscle mass - so far so good.

Price - GREAT! It is a great value compared to the other stuff I was looking at.

It was important to me to get an isolate for a couple reasons - higher quality protein and - important to me - much much lower cholestoral than the non-isolate version.
